Mini Tummy Tuck Morehead City, Jacksonville NC

Mini Tummy Tuck

A mini tummy tuck is exactly what it sounds like — a less invasive procedure than a full tummy tuck, but still an option to help patients achieve a flatter stomach.

Mini Tummy Tuck

The mini tummy tuck procedure is most commonly requested by women who have had children, lost weight, and still can’t seem to shake the “pooch” in their lower abdominal area. This “pooch” is usually a result of the stretching of muscles during pregnancy and can be resolved at Carolinas Center for Plastic Surgery.

Mini Tummy Tuck Surgery Procedure and Downtime

The mini tummy tuck procedure can be performed by Dr. Klainer on an outpatient basis. Instead of the two incisions required for a full tummy tuck, the mini tummy tuck uses one small incision across the lower abdomen.

During the procedure, liposuction is performed on the entire abdomen, then the muscles from the navel to the pubis are tightened. For the first 7 days of recovery, patients will have a small drain inserted to decrease the likelihood of fluid accumulating under the skin flap.

Following the procedure, most patients will require 7 to 10 days home from work, and most will require 6 weeks before returning to all normal activities.

FAQs

Q: Where is the Mini Tummy Tuck surgery performed?
A: The procedure is performed at either Carteret General Hospital or The Surgical Center of Morehead City. Most patients will go home the same day.

Q: Can Tummy Tuck surgery be safely performed with other procedures?
A: Yes. It is often performed in conjunction with other cosmetic or GYN procedures.

Q: Are there any reasons not to have a mini- abdominoplasty?
A: Yes. If you plan future pregnancies, Abdominoplasty or Mini Abdominoplasty should be postponed as the muscles repaired at the time of surgery will be re-stretched, thereby destroying the initial results.
